In 2017 , there are 4 Grade 6 classes:

We are all located in the new BER building.
Our Specialist classes and teachers are:
-Visual Arts with Mrs Lisa Findlay
-Physical Education with Mr Luke Monaghan
-Auslan with Mrs Penny Peters.
Each student has an iPad. Students use their iPads across all subject areas.
Our Grade 6 students are offered opportunities to be involved in many extra-curricular activities, including the instrumental music program, choir, production, interschool sports and Energy Breakthrough.
Each Grade 6 student is assigned a Prep buddy. The Grade 6 and Prep students have ‘Buddies’ each Friday afternoon where they complete creative, educational activities together. The Grade 6 students continue to act as positive role-models to their Prep buddy.
Our three fday camp will occur during week 8 of Term 1. Some of the places we will visit include the MCG, Shrine of Remembrance, Scienceworks and the Immigration Museum.
Year 7 Transition
We will undertake a number of activities to assist our Grade 6 students to make a smooth transition to Secondary College. Activities include; tours of the Secondary Colleges, attending musical performances at BSE and participating in interschool sports with other local primary schools.
This year we will study microorganisms, electricity, natural disasters and chemical changes.
Our Integrated Studies topics are exploring Asia, migration to Australia in the 20th century, Federation and significant contributions to Australian society in the 20th century.
Students complete regular Bounce Back lessons as part of the Wellbeing program. These lessons cover areas including core values, emotions, relationships and bullying. Each classroom also has regular class meetings.
We will complete ten Drug Education lessons throughout the year. These lessons will cover what a drug is, caffeine, alcohol and tobacco.
